This is a variation on the Cocktail classic, the Sidecar. Instead of it's Brandy-based relative, this recipe uses Gin. It also goes by the name the Chelsea Hotel or, simply the Gin Sidecar. Rim a chilled cocktail glass with a lemon twist. Combine the other ingredients (gin, orange liqueur and lemon juice) in a cocktail shacker, with ice. Shake well, (or if you prefer a smoother cocktail, stir) and then strain into the glass. Garnish with the twist.

This classic cocktail is extremely well-known, as well as well balanced. It originated in the early 1900s in France by a man whom visited the same Parisian bar each night in his friend's motorcycle sidecar. It is one of the staples of cocktails.

Rim a chilled cocktail glass with the lemon wedge and sugar. (Discard the wedge.) Combine the Brandy Orange Liqueur and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker, with ice. Shake well, and strain into the prepared glass.
