Das Gessler is a refreshing drink that is a welcome alternative to the mojito. The mint makes the drink refreshing in the summer while the Amaretto adds a touch warmth that is perfect for the winter.

To make Das Gessler, bruise 2-3 sprigs of mint in a tall glass then top off glass with ice. Next add 1 half Amaretto and 1 half sparking water.

Take a few sips of the first drink and adjust the mix of amaretto to sparkling water to your likings. Serve to your guests and enjoy!

First, make some lemonade - MAKE it, as in no powder, no concentrate - squeeze some lemons, and sugar to taste. Drop a few lemon slices in for good measure. No vodka yet!

This is the important part, and what seperates it from your typical Lemon Drop - pour the lemonade in some martini glasses (saving space for the vodka), and put them in the freezer. You want to take them out when the top is frozen, but there's still liquid underneath. Check after half an hour.

Now, crack the icy top layer, add the vodka, and stir GENTLY. The drink should retain an icy texture. Think "frost".

For best results, consume on a polo ground in July.

NOTE
Add some sugar on the rim, if you're sitll convinced this is a lemon drop.

THANKS TO
Greg, who invented this seasonal favorite. I only gave it a name.

First, make some ice cubes out of tonic water.

Prepare a tall glass full of the tonic ice cubes.
Add the Gin (we like Bombay). Next add the Tonic water. Hit it with a splash of Cranberry juice, squeeze in the juice of one lime wedge and garnish with another.

It might seem like maybe there's not enough tonic, but with the cranberry and the lime juice, plus the "cube melt"... it's just right.

Perfectly refreshing on a summer afternoon or after a long day of work.

Variation: Use Vodka instead of Gin if you're into that.
