In a large pitcher mix Dark Rum, Light Rum, Vodka, Brandy, Orange Juice, Lime Juice, Lemon Juice and Pineapple Juice over two cups of ice. Add Orgeat syrup (almond syrup) and a teaspoon of Grenadine.

In a very large fish-bowl glass, place 2 cups of crushed ice, and strain Scorpion Mixture into bowl.

Make 3 skewers, one each alternating Lemon, Lime or Orange with Maraschino cherries. Garnish with skewers and multiple long straws.

Serves 4.

Notes: Grenadine is a debatable ingredient, I know lots of folks who leave it out, or substitute maraschino cherry juice. Other garnishes often used include mint and tropical flowers such as gardenias. This is a strong drink.

Serve in a martini glass, garnish with a wedge of lime.

A smooth vodka works best in this recipe. Try to get the purest cranberry juice possible, as opposed to the "cranberry juice coctail" mixure that is most common. If the cranberry juice is too sweet, the drink will be too sweet.

If preferred, you can use 1/2 part fresh lime juice and 1/2 Rose's Lime.

Heavily shake the two measures of White rum, teaspoon of sugar syrup and single measure of lime juice with crushed ice until thoroughly frosted, then strain and pour over large lumps of ice in a tall thin glass.

Next; top up with lemonade and wait for fizz to settle. Now comes the interesting part: make sure there are people watching as you slowly pour about a measure of blue curacao over the back of a teaspoon over the bobbing ice. let the curacao slip to the bottom and serve.

Never serve with a straw for fear that your masterpiece will be unrecognisably ruined.
