In a rocks glass or tumbler pour the Scotch over ice, then add the Amaretto. SImilar to, but still worlds away from a very dry Manhattan.
Works best with a light-flavored scotch such as J&B or Cutty Sark. Try using Laphroaig or Johnny and it'll end up tasting weird.
