Booze
2 parts Cachaca
Garnishes
Sugar
Ginger
Ice
Lime
Directions
First cut the fresh limes in half. Use a small knife to cut the "spine" of the lime off (that white "string" that goes across it. After, cut the halves in quarters.

On a thick pint glass add 2 to 3 teaspoons of Wholesome Foods Organic Sugar (Trade Joe's) and a hand full of limes and a splash of Cachaça.

Using a wooden Muddler gentle mash the limes about 3 to 4 times. You don't want to do it really hard otherwise you will get the zest of the peel.

Next step is to fill the pint with ice and 2 to 3 parts of Cachaça and shake it. Shake it hard but not for too long. Just enough to get the outside of your metal shaker frosty.

Finally, using a half lime, run it around the rim of the glass (a tumbler). Dip the rim onto a small plate with grounded cinnamon.

Carefully pour the whole content of the shake into the cinnamon rimmed glass and enjoy your Caipirinha!

Don't stir. Pour the limes, ice, pulp, etc... into the glass.

As you pour the drink off the shaker into the glass you add the Ginger Ale. Or you can cut a gash on a ginger rooth and rim the glass on that and cinnammon for an extra exotic flavor! amacedo (840 days ago)

This looks delicious. I love Caipirinhas, but I've never had them prepared this way. I'll definitely try it! But, where's the Ginger come in? ryptide (843 days ago)
