Extratasty - Caipirinha by jacob - Ingredients: Cachaca, Sugar, Ice, Lime

Caipirinha by jacob

1 part Cachaca

Sugar

Ice

Lime

Wash the lime and roll it on the board to loosen the juices. Cut the lime into pieces and place them in a glass. Sprinkle with the sugar and crush the pieces (pulp side up) with a pestle just enough to release the juice, otherwise it'll get bitter. Add the cachaça and stir to mix. Add the ice and stir again.

Caipirinha by sHaGz

This is the way my friends from Brasil tought me to make it. 1. Peel the lime (so you don't get the bitter taste when you mash it). 2. Cut the lime to pieces 3. Put the lime in a strong glass (2 dcl) 4. Add 1 table spoon of suggar (works for me) 5. Mash and mix 6. Fill the glass with chrused ice 7. Pour cachaça... add a straw... Enjoy

	Crushed ice is more of the brasilian way. The idea is for it to melt a little bit since it's a rather strong drink. If you substitute rum, it's not a caipirinha, it's a daiquiri or caipirisimma. If you substitute vodka, it's a caipiroska. - Savory (453 days ago)
