3 parts Orange liqueur

3 parts Brandy

1.5 parts Lemon juice

Lemon wedge

Sugar

I have always had this mixed with 2 parts brandy to 1 part Cointreau and 1 part freshly squeezed lemon juice. Never use cheap triple sec or bottled lemon juice.

This classic cocktail is extremely well-known, as well as well balanced. It originated in the early 1900s in France by a man whom visited the same Parisian bar each night in his friend's motorcycle sidecar. It is one of the staples of cocktails. Rim a chilled cocktail glass with the lemon wedge and sugar. (Discard the wedge.) Combine the Brandy Orange Liqueur and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker, with ice. Shake well, and strain into the prepared glass.
