1 shot Barenjager 1 shot Disaronno 1/2 shot Vodka 1/2 shot distilled water Prepare a short tumbler about half full of ice and add the Barenjager, followed by the Disaronno and the Vodka (preferably something fairly good; Stolichnya works well, but then, so does Smirnoff). Last of all, add the water, slowly. This is to cut the thickness and absurd sweetness of the drink and, due to interesting fluid dynamics and chemistry, will cause the drink to cloud nicely, similarly to how absinthe clouds. This was originated and pioneered by a friend of mine named Ben Cates, but never named officially. The name I've given it is merely a suggestion, until I can run it by him for approval. It's based on the traditional association of amaretto (amare, amore) and the honey nature of the drink. Feel free to suggest others! |
