Booze
A splash of Vodka
Mixers
1 part Apple Juice
Directions
I recently had this drink while vacationing in Krakow Poland. To make a Tatanka, mix 1 part Vodka with 4 parts Apple juice, traditionally a bison grass vodka like Zubrowka® is used. This drink is great! It can be a little sweet so sometimes I make it half 'n half if I want a more potent drink.

bubble Though not familiar with the traditional Polish version, I agree that apple cider vs. apple juice is probably the better way to go. In general, as the other commenters have also mentioned, apple juice is too watered down and not flavorful enough to be a good mixer on its own. jburns (242 days ago)
bubble This is traditionally made in Poland with what we in England call apple juice, though in the States I believe that that translates to apple cider? The cloudy, pressed variety. Bison Grass vodka (Zubrowka) is essential - it has a spice to it that gives the drink a lovely apple strudel flavour, perfect for this time of year. A wedge of lime goes well too! margot (671 days ago)

This would be great with natural unfiltered apple juice...it has so much flavour. Cowpunkmom (736 days ago)
bubble I used half vodka and half apple joice with ice. It was ok, but it tasted watered down. I think adding apple liquor would help. But hey, it hit the spot and I will make it again! mrnicksgirl (900 days ago)
